Rudy A. Ciccotti Family Recreation Center in Albany NY provides an endless list of aquatic programs and swimming lessons for all ages (toddlers, kids, and adults), skill levels, and for members and non-members in the Albany and Colonie area. All our American Red Cross swim programs teach participants how to swim in a logical progression and safety in and around the water. Classes are subject to minimum and maximum enrollment. Parent-Child Aquatics: (6 months – 2 yrs.) Using songs, games and water toys, your child will learn basic water readiness during a unique, aquatic parent-tot bonding experience.
Super Tot: (2-3 yrs.) An advanced parent-child swim lesson concentrated on beginning basic stroke movements. Parents learn how to teach their children to swim.
3 Different Levels: (3-5 yrs.) Small group lessons that provide your child with the instruction and inspiration needed to be comfortable and confident in the water. They learn to blow bubbles, submerge their face in the water, float while supported, and basic water safety.
American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program: (school age children) This program is comprised of 6 levels and covers the following skills: water entry and exit, breathing control and underwater swimming, buoyancy, changing direction and treading water, swimming on front, back, and side, all 4 competitive strokes, turns, water fitness, and water safety.
These swim lessons are designed for adults and will run once a week for seven weeks. Participants will learn to feel safe in and around the water and begin to learn how to swim.
This program is taught by a USA-certified coach and is for adults who already feel comfortable in the water and need extra motivation to add to their workout. Great off-season conditioning for Triathlon Swimmers who will work on all strokes, drills, exercises and distance.
We offer private & semi-private swimming lessons for both children and adults. Our American Red Cross swimming lessons are offered year-round at Rudy A. Ciccotti Family Recreation Center. This program will teach participants how to swim in a logical progression and to be safe in and around the water.
This course prepares participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to prevent drowning and injuries. Participants will also learn CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
